Travel Internationally with your Service Dog with Confidence
Already have a well-trained well-behaved dog and need to prepare for international travel?
My Service Dog International Travel Readiness & Behavioral Compliance Program that I have been running since 2013 provides a clear process for demonstrating your dogs obedience, public access behavior, and readiness through video submissions.
I provide you with written testing requirements and video examples so you know exactly what your dog needs to demonstrate. You practice with your dog in public, record the required ADI behaviors, then submit your videos to me for review.
Program Fee is $750.00
Is This Program Right for Your Dog?
This program is designed for dogs that have passed a puppy class and a basic obedience class. Your dog must be well socialized and be able to be controlled by verbal commands as well as have been previously socially exposed to different environments and possess a stoic response to their environment.
Your dog should already have:
- Basic Obedience Training.
- Be calm and well behaved in various public environments.
- Be stoic and good around unfamiliar dogs.
- Show no aggression or threatening behavior towards dogs or people
- Be able to remain under your control around normal public distractions.
- be ready for you to practice and demonstrate the required behaviors in public.
How The Program Works!
1. Review The Requirements
I provide you with the ADI Public Access Test requirements, along with written information and videos that correlate with each behavior on the test, showing and breaking each of those behaviors down into simple steps.
2. Practice With Your Dog
After we speak on the phone and I have received your deposit and I have sent the information you will immediately go out and practice with your dog in real time in high volume public environments until you feel confident your dog is ready to take the test.
3. Record Your Dog
You record videos demonstrating each required behavior. Your videos will also include your dog behaving appropriately around unfamiliar dogs so I can evaluate their behavior and safety around other dogs.
4. Submit Your Videos
Through WhatsApp
Send your completed videos to me through WhatsApp for review.
5. I Review Your Videos
I review each required behavior. If I need to see something more clearly or in a different environment, I will ask you to submit another video.
6. Complete the Program
Once your dog has satisfactorily demonstrated all required behaviors and program is paid in full, I issue you the documents you need to show you have completed the Service Dog Program and your dog and you are ready for travel.
What you receive Upon Successful completion
Once your dog and you have successfully demonstrated all required behaviors and completed the program, you will receive:
- Certificate of Completion/Diploma
- A Public Access letter stating training history, and you and your dogs completion status.
- Registration number unique to you as a service dog team.
These documents provide a professional record of training and behavioral ADI standards your dog demonstrated through the program.
